I installed two last fall nieghbors were cautious about them and cold weather 2 weeks ago we had negative 20 temp with minus 34 wind chill and they worked as advertised while my other waters were a solid block of ice. I'm not sure how I could love my Drinking Post waterers more!! We installed them about 2 years ago so they've gone through 2 winters and summers and I think they paid for themselves the first week after installing them! The horses all learned quickly. OK, we have one mare (she's a bit wonky in the head in many ways...) who was a bit of a s l o w learner, but we helped her along and she was using them within three days. Everyone else (15+ horses) had NO trouble whatsoever. The test for me was my big draft cross because he destroys everything and he's been unable to figure out a way to completely destroy them either! They've been put to the test in sub-arctic long stretches and we've never ever had any issues with freezing. And, NO HEATERS!! That alone saves us so much money and time!! We will be putting a new structure up and we will be planning from the start where we want our new DP waterers!! I will NEVER have horses without these!! Oh, and I forgot to mention, there's no algae to deal with in tanks in the summer either! NO, I am NOT paid by them, I just love them that much!! When you're as old as I am and you've had to haul your share of water and break ice as much as I have, to find a solution that seems magical is the best feeling. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. OOOH - and their customer service if you do have a problem??? UNBELIEVABLE! My draft X that destroys literally everything found a way not to break the waterer, but the outside sheath. I called to order a replacement part and he asked for the measurements and sent one to me free of charge. LOVE the product and LOVE the company!! - 4/16/2023

its been 4 years since we installed our 1st drinking post and 3 years since we installed the rest. We have 5 total and I will say this. We have had zero issues with them and it has made life so much easier. They never freeze and cleaning takes 2 mins. I've shopped every waterer on the market and I know of at least 5 different brands that are used buy other horse farms around us and by far Drinking post is the best choice by far. they are a little time consuming to install so I was skeptical at first but been probably one of the best things we have done for our horses. - 4/16/2022

We installed DP two years ago in both our barn and pasture. Couldn't be more happy. We had a terrible long winter in the PNW and midst the ice and snow the DP's never failed. Such a gift not to have to plug in water heaters and deal with breaking ice. We bring in new horses for training and it has been amazing to me how quickly they learn to drink from the DP. I am so satisfied that I now have 5. It is so great to have clean, fresh water year round. We have 25 quarters horses of all sizes and operate the waterers easily. I've had 4 drinkers for my horses for several years now. This year's heat and drought have been TRYING! But I don't waste any water. The units always deliver clean, fresh, and cool water. I don't need to be cleaning green slime out of units every 2 days. In the heat of the day the horses are not standing at a tank splashing out valuable water that is no longer cool. Even when I move horses to a different location, they have no problem finding the drinkers. These are quality units! They are simple to repair when needed! They are priced fairly! Evening water cooler meeting of the minds! 😆 Wonder what those pipes are for??? If you have horses you MUST invest in The Drinking Post. This is the most incredible and smartest horse investment I have EVER made. These posts are worth their weight in gold. And they pay for themselves! There is no electricity to them!! They are set 18” below the frost line which means water is the perfect temperature 365 days a year. I NEVER have to clean a trough again or bust ice in the winter. I have even noticed clearer ”pp” because they drink so much more. 😉 I have had them installed since January they went through winter without issue. Summer has been great too with all this nasty heat I knew their water was fresh, clean, and cool! The boys were shown how to push the paddle ONCE and took to it like a fish in water. No, I don’t work for them…just a happy happy customer!! My horse chores have been cut drastically. No hoses to drag (200ft), no filling and dumping, no scrubbing…NOTHING! All I have to do is give grain twice a day as their hay is in huts! It takes less than 10 min. Insane! 😍 They are truly incredible!! - 8/17/2022

Although we are in the deep south and don't have to battle the sub-zero winters...DP Waterers are still life savers. These waterers have saved our lives in the summer when we have to pour out hundreds of gallons of water every day to keep our water fresh, cool and algae free. Also for those weeks during the winter when we struggle with icy watering troughs the DP Waterers are like little miracles in our pasture (since the only place we are used to ice is in our sweet tea!). We have four systems. The oldest one was installed about four years ago, and we had our first problem when the bowl stopped draining. Customer service was amazing. Tracked the trouble down to the weight inside the valve. The Company sent us a replacement for free. Installed and fixed the problem. After years of having electric heaters run to our automatic waterers, these systems are a life saver. If I had a gripe, it would be they don’t do a great job on the website at explaining, in written directions, how these systems work and how to disassemble/reassemble them. We are in the sticks so the YouTube videos aren’t as helpful. See the photo of the weight. This came out of a 6’ waterer and obviously worked for a good while; however, when draining stopped, the hexagonal replacement the company sent took care of the issue immediately. - 10/13/2024

Effective, worry free, easy to maintain. We have owned our drinking post for almost a year now and it works exactly as expected. I needed to unclog the inlet filter today because of sediment from our well. I followed the instructions on the website and it only took about 20 minutes. Very pleased. - 4/16/2023

We installed the drinking posts two years ago. This last weekend was beyond cold in Ontario Canada. (-41 Celsius) unfortunately the anchor for the paddle broke right off the bottom of the bowl. HOWEVER, System Fencing, (Dealer) had the bowl in stock and less than 24 hrs later we were up and running again. So easy to fix and replace even in this temperature. Thank you for an exceptional product! (And calling me back even though I didn’t need your help after all in finding my closest dealer). - 1/22/2019

We installed two Drinking Posts in the Fall of 2023. Winter was one of those "every 8 years it gets this cold" ones with below freezing temps. My neighbors had to haul water to their horses, but we DIDN'T!! LOVE these waterers and will be installing more in newly fenced pastures. Just put em in and forget em! Worth every penny! - 2/16/2024

I bought one based on the recommendation of my son, who lives in Minneapolis. It was easy to install, and after the horses learned how it works, has been fantastic. I haven't cleaned a horse tank or used a de-icer since I put it in. And, there is no electricity involved. I love it!! - 4/16/2021

I have to say I had my doubts when looking for a waterer that would not freeze but needed no electricity. After purchasing ours and having it a little over a year now, I would never use anything else. Highly recommend drinking post waterers! Not only is the product extremely durable, it truly never freezes! All the questions I’ve had were only a simple phone call away, never had to wait on a hold line just to be transferred to another country, they pick up answer all questions and have even sent out parts that I didn’t know I needed! We installed one last year (2018) and it worked beautifully through a very cold, windy Pennsylvania winter. I just purchased two more for other pastures and can’t wait till the ground thaws to get them installed!! They have stood up to our horses kicking at them, chewing on them and trying to bite the paddle! The post did not get brittle in the cold like PVC does. Great work saving product!!
