The Ultimate Drinking Post for Pigs/Hogs

The Drinking Post is the most reliable automatic waterer for pigs and hogs. It will eliminate all your watering chores – no more chopping ice, scrubbing algae, filling tanks, or dragging hoses! The bowl fills and drains with each use, which provides your animals with fresh, clean water every time they take a drink. It doesn’t require any electricity and it can stay frost-free in temps as low as -50 F/-45.5 C! It’s so sturdy and durable that it’s backed with a 5 Year Warranty!

The Pig Paddle Attachment: The Drinking Post for Pigs/Hogs features a small block that attaches to the standard flat paddle. To activate the water, they push the block forward with their snout. This motion is much easier for pigs than pushing the paddle down. This paddle attachment will come included with your Drinking Post for Pigs/Hogs.

I think it's been about 6 or 7 years with a DPW and going strong. Northern Illinois winter is no problem. Why anyone is still using heated waterers is a mystery to me. The DPW pays for itself in the savings compared to the energy use of a heated waterer, not to mention how little maintenance it needs. - 4/16/2022

its been 4 years since we installed our 1st drinking post and 3 years since we installed the rest. We have 5 total and I will say this. We have had zero issues with them and it has made life so much easier. They never freeze and cleaning takes 2 mins. I've shopped every waterer on the market and I know of at least 5 different brands that are used buy other horse farms around us and by far Drinking post is the best choice by far. they are a little time consuming to install so I was skeptical at first but been probably one of the best things we have done for our horses. - 4/16/2022

We installed a Drinking Post in November 2017 and have gone through two of the most brutal February’s we can remember in Montana. The only problem we had was when it was -32 temperature and -59 wind chill. The paddle froze open and that was my fault as I had it screwed down too tight. The DP is easy to install, uses no power and ours works awesome. I have had a couple issues with a horse that didn’t want to learn how to drink and Brad answered almost immediately with a solution. All of our other horses caught on to the DP in a day or two. We have used other automatic waterers and the DP is hands down better! We love our DP! - 3/10/2019

I love it!!!! no more checking the trough, no more cleaning the trough, I did take the advice of another review and built a cage out of 1x1x1/4 angle iron I had around the farm, same length as the post and buried with the post. Glad I did, the first day 10 cows figured it out, they were pretty rough around the post. Haven't had this during the winter yet, but I'm not expecting to have any problems since I went an extra foot deeper than recommended depth with good gravel ground and excellent drainage. Really glad I bought two, both pastures have clean fresh water all the time. Highly recommend, no wires, breakers, and if my power goes out, which happens more than I like, I'm able to run my water pump with a back up generator and not worry about the extra draw to run a heater also! - 4/16/2022

The drinking post has made our life so much easier!!! No more carrying buckets or wrestling hoses ! We highly recommend buying this product. We trained our horses in 2 days exactly like the video says . It works!!!! It did take a few weeks to train the donkeys, but donkeys are stubborn that’s not a secret lol they love the waterer and actually use it for entertainment. Also customer service is amazing . Although we are in the deep south and don't have to battle the sub-zero winters...DP Waterers are still life savers. These waterers have saved our lives in the summer when we have to pour out hundreds of gallons of water every day to keep our water fresh, cool and algae free. We installed 2 of the drinking posts and 1 of the Classic Equine waterers. Our horses prefer the drinking post. Water is colder for them. Make sure you put a hard surface around though, the horse can make a mess. - 4/16/2023

I live in Montana, this thing is incredible. I wish I could sell them because they would be the easiest sell ever. Even with weeks of -20 degree nights and highs of maybe 5 degrees, the horses have water. I have never had to clean it and never had an issue. 3 years, 3 horses, it is fantastic. We installed one last year (2018) and it worked beautifully through a very cold, windy Pennsylvania winter. I just purchased two more for other pastures and can’t wait till the ground thaws to get them installed!! They have stood up to our horses kicking at them, chewing on them and trying to bite the paddle! The post did not get brittle in the cold like PVC does. Great work saving product!! Drinking post is just as they claim. My horses have always used a trough. Anyone that has used or uses a trough knows that in the winter you always have to make sure the heater is working and in the summer always keeping it clean from insects. My horses learned quickly to use the post and seem to be drinking more often. I would recommend this to anyone that is just thinking about getting one and on the fence about it. It might be a little more work than a trough to get started but it is well worth the effort for you and your livestock. - 4/16/2021
