The Ultimate Drinking Post for Sheep and Goats
The Drinking Post is the most reliable automatic waterer for sheep and goats. It will eliminate all your watering chores – no more chopping ice, scrubbing algae, filling tanks, or dragging hoses! The bowl fills and drains with each use, which provides your animals with fresh, clean water every time they take a drink. It doesn’t require any electricity and it can stay frost-free in temps as low as -50 F/-45.5 C! It’s so sturdy and durable that we’ve backed every Ultimate Drinking Post with a 5 Year Warranty!
The Livestock Paddle Attachment: The Drinking Post for Sheep/Goats features a weighted riser block that attaches to the standard flat paddle. To activate the water, they will butt the riser block forward with their head. This “butting” motion is a natural action for sheep and goats, so it’s more comfortable to use and easier to learn! The Livestock Paddle Attachment will come included with your Drinking Post for Sheep/Goats.

Description
- Melinda W.I highly recommend the Drinking Post! - 5/14/2020Val E.I live in Montana, this thing is incredible. I wish I could sell them because they would be the easiest sell ever. Even with weeks of -20 degree nights and highs of maybe 5 degrees, the horses have water. I have never had to clean it and never had an issue. 3 years, 3 horses, it is fantastic. My horses learned how to use it in 5 minutes. It was easy to install and worth every cent. - 4/16/2021Stacy S.I absolutely love these posts for our goats, cows, mini horses and donkey! easy to use and to train everyone to use them! - 3/13/2021
- JoAnn G.We just installed three posts at our farm in Marshville NC. Brad went above and beyond to get us the perfect size posts. Easy to install. Took horses about 5 seconds to figure it out. I highly recommend this company and their drinking posts. It’s the best decision we made for our farm. - 10/13/2024Karyl B.Drinking post is a great invention! I had problems with pigeon's using my horses water troth for their everyday use, it was getting gross. I had to clean it everyday. I now have 2 drinking posts and my horses use them with no problem. I don't have to clean up after pigeon's either! Great buy. Easy to install too. - 4/16/2021MaKenna M.We love our drinking post! It was very easy to install and the horses figured it out quickly - 2/20/2020
- Anne P.I am very happy with the drinking post. I have installed shorter ones for my goats and regular sized for my horses. Happy to say they all caught on quickly and seem to enjoy drinking from them. The company was easy to deal with when a part can broken they sent me a whole new waterer. - 4/16/2021Ana AndrickBest investment ever! Don’t have to worry about tank heaters or moving hoses. Customer service is awesome too. - 12/05/2018Doug D.I've had 4 drinkers for my horses for several years now. This year's heat and drought have been TRYING! But I don't waste any water. The units always deliver clean, fresh, and cool water. I don't need to be cleaning green slime out of units every 2 days. In the heat of the day the horses are not standing at a tank splashing out valuable water that is no longer cool. Even when I move horses to a different location, they have no problem finding the drinkers. These are quality units! They are simple to repair when needed! They are priced fairly! It's a win win for us. - 4/16/2022
- Angel GormleyThe drinking post has made our life so much easier!!! No more carrying buckets or wrestling hoses ! We highly recommend buying this product. We trained our horses in 2 days exactly like the video says . It works!!!! It did take a few weeks to train the donkeys, but donkeys are stubborn that’s not a secret lol they love the waterer and actually use it for entertainment. Also customer service is amazing . All questions answered right away !! Very helpful and responsive. Thank you drinking posts for everything ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Angel - Michigan - 8/28/2018Doug D.Best service possible. Have 5 waterers. - 4/16/2021Kimberly W.Love my DP waterer! It's a game changer! - 4/16/2021 - Charles K.I installed two last fall nieghbors were cautious about them and cold weather 2 weeks ago we had negative 20 temp with minus 34 wind chill and they worked as advertised while my other waters were a solid block of ice. Those cold temperatures lasted 10 days very pleased and would recommend for anyone. - 3/02/2021John G.saved me almost $700 in 1 winter - 4/01/2020Michael G.We've had 3 drinking posts installed at our Colorado ranch since 2017 and love the way they operate! No heaters, no electricity required and the water comes out clean and cool throughout the year, summer and winter. We have small ponies to large drafts and all have typically learned how to use it within a day or two. Recently in one pasture, one horse got a little "mouthy" with the paddle and eventually ripped it out of the bowl (original design). The owner personally delivered a newly designed bowl and paddle configuration which is much more robust (see comparison on their website) and we've been trouble-free now for several months. Great design and great customer service! - 4/16/2022
- Dean W.Started with 4' not thinking the frost would go that deep, my bad... Called and was sent what was needed to extend to 6'. Fantastic Customer service. You can bet I will buy more as my operation grows. Good Job Guys.. - 4/16/2021Doug W.Simple to install. Clean COOL water immediately available even in 100 degree temperatures. Great customer service ! - 7/18/2019Alicia T.I have to say I had my doubts when looking for a waterer that would not freeze but needed no electricity. After purchasing ours and having it a little over a year now, I would never use anything else. Highly recommend drinking post waterers! Not only is the product extremely durable, it truly never freezes! All the questions I’ve had were only a simple phone call away, never had to wait on a hold line just to be transferred to another country, they pick up answer all questions and have even sent out parts that I didn’t know I needed! The best there is! - 9/16/2023
- Cheryl S.Have had them for over 9 years. Love them! Wish I had installed in my pastures too! Great customer service. - 6/11/2019Leslie ApplegateI love my Drinking Posts!! The goats always have clean, fresh water and I don't have to dump ice and drag hoses!!! - 5/09/2020Susan T.We installed DP two years ago in both our barn and pasture. Couldn't be more happy. We had a terrible long winter in the PNW and midst the ice and snow the DP's never failed. Such a gift not to have to plug in water heaters and deal with breaking ice. We bring in new horses for training and it has been amazing to me how quickly they learn to drink from the DP. Thrilled with our product and the help and service we have received. - 5/16/2019
- Yvonne Plourde GurzellI love my 3 drinking posts I bought. Living in Florida I needed something that would give them fresh, cold, clean water without the mosquito problem. I bought the portable one since I don't need to bury it in the florida sand. - 8/16/2021Carl S.I had to starve my cows to it for two days and they used it as long as they couldn't get to a pond then they won't use it - 10/20/2024Nadine C.I was skeptical that my mini’s would be able to use the watering post but after dealing with hot Florida summers, mold and hoses I really wanted to give it a try. In the beginning the ponies couldn’t figure out the paddle. I contacted Drinking Post and they sent out a much larger paddle (looks like a brick) and they took to it right away. I am happy to report that even my 6 week old colt has mastered the watering post. - 6/10/2020
- Jessica Y.We installed our drinking post this summer for our two warmbloods and 1 mule. I actually have looked forward to the electric bill each month to see the cost savings that the drinking post has given us. So far this winter our electric bill is averaging 300 kWh less then the same month last year when we were using a water tank heater. That is $30 of savings a month just from 1 tank heater! At this rate the drinking post will pay for itself in 2.5 winters. It has been worth every penny! My animals love drinking out of it, getting a fresh consistent temperature water each time. - 2/19/2020Amy L.I can't say enough good things about these waterers!!! It has literally saved me so much time, plus the horses love it, AND I no longer have lugging buckets around killing my back and neck! I love, love, love having the waterer! Even our new mini learned to use it within a day! They stand in line at their "water fountain"!! We love it, they love it!! ❤️😁 - 11/20/2020Roy Y.We have 5 drinking post waterers 3 of them have been in use for 3years + 2new ones this year they work great in Wyoming. I highly recommend them for cows horses & Donkey's - 4/16/2021
- Robert D.Works Great! 2 years no trouble, horses learned to use it in a day . The lot stays dry . Fresh water all the time . - 4/16/2022Julie B.We installed our first drinking post a few months ago in our Welsh pony's field. He figured out how to use it immediately and seems to enjoy playing with it too. My other horse has a traditional water trough with a float and in the summer weather it turns green and needs dumped and cleaned every few days. The drinking post on the other hand provides clean, cool water on demand and takes no work on my part. I really like it! I will eventually install one for my horse too. Recommend this product. - 8/16/2023Elizabeth M.I LOVE my drinking post!! Think about all of the stress related to water for your horse, now imagine that gone. No more worrying about whether your horse has water, cleaning buckets or troughs, dumping toughs that could be a breeding ground for algae and mosquitoes, filling buckets, de-icing them, worrying about heated water buckets getting unplugged, etc. It was easy to install - my well guy hooked it up easily and with no prior experience. It was easy to trouble-shoot. When extreme cold weather hit, I had a problem with it leaking. I called Brad who talked me through how to fix it and I (with no plumbing where-with-all) fixed it in 30 seconds. I was very worried that my horse wouldn't figure out how to use it. The key is to 1. introduce them to it and you depress the paddle so that they get used to the sound and know it is where water comes out and 2. use the training paddle. I didn't use the training paddle and my horse wasn't using the waterer. The second I put on the training paddle and dribbled molasses in the bowl he got it IMMEDIATELY. The waterer is outside (under a barn overhang). When I stable my horse overnight in a stall I use a bucket. I've seen him come out of the stall and go to the drinking post rather than drink out of his bucket, he likes it that much. Honestly, I don't know why all horse people don't have one. - 2/01/2020
