- Steve M.Installed 2 Drinking Post Waterers and had the cattle drinking out of them immediately. So easy to install, even easier to train animals to use. The cattle love them and I am looking forward to a winter of not having to break ice here in Minnesota. I will definitely be installing more as we expand. - 10/09/2022Gina S.I have had this for 2 winters now- with temperatures in the single digits. Never a problem. Best investment I’ve made and very easy to install. At the time I installed I only had one horse. It did take her a couple weeks to figure it out , but when I got the second horse, she figured it out in a day. Great, great waterer. - 4/16/2021Kyle J.Have 4, cows love them, so do we. They work as advertised.. - 4/16/2021
- Doug D.Best service possible. Have 5 waterers. - 4/16/2021Lucile V.Love ours. They never freeze. - 11/15/2021Matt H.We installed 2 of the drinking posts and 1 of the Classic Equine waterers. Our horses prefer the drinking post. Water is colder for them. Make sure you put a hard surface around though, the horse can make a mess. - 4/16/2023
- Yvonne Plourde GurzellI love my 3 drinking posts I bought. Living in Florida I needed something that would give them fresh, cold, clean water without the mosquito problem. I bought the portable one since I don't need to bury it in the florida sand. - 8/16/2021Chris B.its been 4 years since we installed our 1st drinking post and 3 years since we installed the rest. We have 5 total and I will say this. We have had zero issues with them and it has made life so much easier. They never freeze and cleaning takes 2 mins. I've shopped every waterer on the market and I know of at least 5 different brands that are used buy other horse farms around us and by far Drinking post is the best choice by far. they are a little time consuming to install so I was skeptical at first but been probably one of the best things we have done for our horses. - 4/16/2022Bob GieseWe installed a Drinking Post in November 2017 and have gone through two of the most brutal February’s we can remember in Montana. The only problem we had was when it was -32 temperature and -59 wind chill. The paddle froze open and that was my fault as I had it screwed down too tight. The DP is easy to install, uses no power and ours works awesome. I have had a couple issues with a horse that didn’t want to learn how to drink and Brad answered almost immediately with a solution. All of our other horses caught on to the DP in a day or two. We have used other automatic waterers and the DP is hands down better! We love our DP! - 3/10/2019
- Elizabeth M.I LOVE my drinking post!! Think about all of the stress related to water for your horse, now imagine that gone. No more worrying about whether your horse has water, cleaning buckets or troughs, dumping toughs that could be a breeding ground for algae and mosquitoes, filling buckets, de-icing them, worrying about heated water buckets getting unplugged, etc. It was easy to install - my well guy hooked it up easily and with no prior experience. It was easy to trouble-shoot. When extreme cold weather hit, I had a problem with it leaking. I called Brad who talked me through how to fix it and I (with no plumbing where-with-all) fixed it in 30 seconds. I was very worried that my horse wouldn't figure out how to use it. The key is to 1. introduce them to it and you depress the paddle so that they get used to the sound and know it is where water comes out and 2. use the training paddle. I didn't use the training paddle and my horse wasn't using the waterer. The second I put on the training paddle and dribbled molasses in the bowl he got it IMMEDIATELY. The waterer is outside (under a barn overhang). When I stable my horse overnight in a stall I use a bucket. I've seen him come out of the stall and go to the drinking post rather than drink out of his bucket, he likes it that much. Honestly, I don't know why all horse people don't have one. - 2/01/2020Build T.We have had drinking posts in our pastures for over 20 years. The horses take to them quickly and I love that they always get fresh water. - 4/16/2021JoAnn G.We just installed three posts at our farm in Marshville NC. Brad went above and beyond to get us the perfect size posts. Easy to install. Took horses about 5 seconds to figure it out. I highly recommend this company and their drinking posts. It’s the best decision we made for our farm. - 10/13/2024
- Dave R.We have four systems. The oldest one was installed about four years ago, and we had our first problem when the bowl stopped draining. Customer service was amazing. Tracked the trouble down to the weight inside the valve. The Company sent us a replacement for free. Installed and fixed the problem. After years of having electric heaters run to our automatic waterers, these systems are a life saver. If I had a gripe, it would be they don’t do a great job on the website at explaining, in written directions, how these systems work and how to disassemble/reassemble them. We are in the sticks so the YouTube videos aren’t as helpful. See the photo of the weight. This came out of a 6’ waterer and obviously worked for a good while; however, when draining stopped, the hexagonal replacement the company sent took care of the issue immediately. - 10/13/2024Larry H.I love it!!!! no more checking the trough, no more cleaning the trough, I did take the advice of another review and built a cage out of 1x1x1/4 angle iron I had around the farm, same length as the post and buried with the post. Glad I did, the first day 10 cows figured it out, they were pretty rough around the post. Haven't had this during the winter yet, but I'm not expecting to have any problems since I went an extra foot deeper than recommended depth with good gravel ground and excellent drainage. Really glad I bought two, both pastures have clean fresh water all the time. Highly recommend, no wires, breakers, and if my power goes out, which happens more than I like, I'm able to run my water pump with a back up generator and not worry about the extra draw to run a heater also! - 4/16/2022Michael G.We've had 3 drinking posts installed at our Colorado ranch since 2017 and love the way they operate! No heaters, no electricity required and the water comes out clean and cool throughout the year, summer and winter. We have small ponies to large drafts and all have typically learned how to use it within a day or two. Recently in one pasture, one horse got a little "mouthy" with the paddle and eventually ripped it out of the bowl (original design). The owner personally delivered a newly designed bowl and paddle configuration which is much more robust (see comparison on their website) and we've been trouble-free now for several months. Great design and great customer service! - 4/16/2022
- Val E.I live in Montana, this thing is incredible. I wish I could sell them because they would be the easiest sell ever. Even with weeks of -20 degree nights and highs of maybe 5 degrees, the horses have water. I have never had to clean it and never had an issue. 3 years, 3 horses, it is fantastic. My horses learned how to use it in 5 minutes. It was easy to install and worth every cent. - 4/16/2021Holly S.Evening water cooler meeting of the minds! 😆 Wonder what those pipes are for??? If you have horses you MUST invest in The Drinking Post. This is the most incredible and smartest horse investment I have EVER made. These posts are worth their weight in gold. And they pay for themselves! There is no electricity to them!! They are set 18” below the frost line which means water is the perfect temperature 365 days a year. I NEVER have to clean a trough again or bust ice in the winter. I have even noticed clearer ”pp” because they drink so much more. 😉 I have had them installed since January they went through winter without issue. Summer has been great too with all this nasty heat I knew their water was fresh, clean, and cool! The boys were shown how to push the paddle ONCE and took to it like a fish in water. No, I don’t work for them…just a happy happy customer!! My horse chores have been cut drastically. No hoses to drag (200ft), no filling and dumping, no scrubbing…NOTHING! All I have to do is give grain twice a day as their hay is in huts! It takes less than 10 min. Insane! 😍 They are truly incredible!! - 8/17/2022Delroy B.The watering post has been the best thing that I have done for my 3 horses, not to mention no more filling and cleaning water tubs! Amazing! - 4/16/2023
- Amy L.I can't say enough good things about these waterers!!! It has literally saved me so much time, plus the horses love it, AND I no longer have lugging buckets around killing my back and neck! I love, love, love having the waterer! Even our new mini learned to use it within a day! They stand in line at their "water fountain"!! We love it, they love it!! ❤️😁 - 11/20/2020Trista W.I live in Iowa and this has been the easiest winter yet for chores. Very responsive customer service as well. Highly recommend! - 1/16/2022Robert D.Works Great! 2 years no trouble, horses learned to use it in a day . The lot stays dry . Fresh water all the time . - 4/16/2022
- Cheryl S.Have had them for over 9 years. Love them! Wish I had installed in my pastures too! Great customer service. - 6/11/2019Shelley G.We installed 3 DPW's in Northern Idaho last April. So far, we love them! So happy that we chose this brand/company for our watering needs. - 4/19/2023Tonia Marshallthey are maintenance free and fresh water on demand, - 10/03/2018
- David Vanek Jr.Has worked wonderfully for 2 years now! My horse loves it. Just lube the paddle once in a while. Cheers - 8/10/2021Dean C.Drinking post is just as they claim. My horses have always used a trough. Anyone that has used or uses a trough knows that in the winter you always have to make sure the heater is working and in the summer always keeping it clean from insects. My horses learned quickly to use the post and seem to be drinking more often. I would recommend this to anyone that is just thinking about getting one and on the fence about it. It might be a little more work than a trough to get started but it is well worth the effort for you and your livestock. - 4/16/2021W K.These drinking posts work great! No messy tanks to clean, always fresh water and easy to maintain, getting through winter watering livestock is a breeze and not a freeze! Not to mention no electric bill so, they are worth every penny! Have used them for years when they first came out and never a regret! Their customer service is awesome and they stand behind their product! - 2/16/2024
- Polly McGannI’ve had my drinking post watered in Northern Illinois for 3+ years, two horses, and it’s been a champion! I often say it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. What’s not to love? Easy, safe, healthy for the horses, time and money savings. Had to do some minor maintenance on it this year, replaced the bowl since the holder for a screw did eventually wear down. The maintenance videos are all well done, but I still called for some help and got the best customer service you can imagine. It’s deceptively simple but don’t underestimate it! - 12/07/2018MaKenna M.We love our drinking post! It was very easy to install and the horses figured it out quickly - 2/20/2020Melinda W.I highly recommend the Drinking Post! - 5/14/2020
