- Yvonne Plourde GurzellI love my 3 drinking posts I bought. Living in Florida I needed something that would give them fresh, cold, clean water without the mosquito problem. I bought the portable one since I don't need to bury it in the florida sand. - 8/16/2021Melinda W.I highly recommend the Drinking Post! - 5/14/2020Lucile V.Love ours. They never freeze. - 11/15/2021
- Elaine S.We currently have 8 drinking post automatic waterers for our horses. We have one in each of 3 paddocks and 1 in each of our 5 stalls. Installing the drinking post automatic waterers was the best decision we made when building our barn and paddocks 4 years ago. A special shout out to Brad at drinking post who's customer service is above 5 stars - he is always there to help with any questions and goes above and beyond the call of duty to help with questions, etc. I highly recommend drinking post waterers to everyone I know. They are maintenance free except for the occassional cleaning of grass that horses sometimes leave when they take a drink. I love these waterers!!! - 11/17/2020Lisa W.Love love love it !!!! I haven't broken ice or wrangled bloody frozen hoses. - 4/16/2022Nadine C.I was skeptical that my mini’s would be able to use the watering post but after dealing with hot Florida summers, mold and hoses I really wanted to give it a try. In the beginning the ponies couldn’t figure out the paddle. I contacted Drinking Post and they sent out a much larger paddle (looks like a brick) and they took to it right away. I am happy to report that even my 6 week old colt has mastered the watering post. - 6/10/2020
- Dean W.Started with 4' not thinking the frost would go that deep, my bad... Called and was sent what was needed to extend to 6'. Fantastic Customer service. You can bet I will buy more as my operation grows. Good Job Guys.. - 4/16/2021Spencer F.Installed in October and so far so good. The goats learned how to use it and so far it’s working as advertised. Haven’t had any below zero weather yet. I’m wondering if the drain might freeze up when it’s really cold. Install was pretty straightforward. I’m lucky enough to have a neighbor with a backhoe but if you don’t have access to a backhoe or excavator install with a shovel would be very time consuming. - 1/16/2024Julie Uzuanis-FergusonThis is the only waterer we will ever have again, period!! Worth it's weight in gold!! - 3/01/2019
- Maxine D.I should have installed these waterers years ago. If you are looking for one thing that will make your horse owning life easier, my advice would be to get drinking post waterers installed. - 4/16/2021Larry K.I've had these at the ranch for almost 5 years and many different horses have used them without a single failure. It's never taken more than one day to train a new horse how to activate the water paddle. - 4/16/2022Charles K.I installed two last fall nieghbors were cautious about them and cold weather 2 weeks ago we had negative 20 temp with minus 34 wind chill and they worked as advertised while my other waters were a solid block of ice. Those cold temperatures lasted 10 days very pleased and would recommend for anyone. - 3/02/2021
- Larry H.I love it!!!! no more checking the trough, no more cleaning the trough, I did take the advice of another review and built a cage out of 1x1x1/4 angle iron I had around the farm, same length as the post and buried with the post. Glad I did, the first day 10 cows figured it out, they were pretty rough around the post. Haven't had this during the winter yet, but I'm not expecting to have any problems since I went an extra foot deeper than recommended depth with good gravel ground and excellent drainage. Really glad I bought two, both pastures have clean fresh water all the time. Highly recommend, no wires, breakers, and if my power goes out, which happens more than I like, I'm able to run my water pump with a back up generator and not worry about the extra draw to run a heater also! - 4/16/2022Angel GormleyThe drinking post has made our life so much easier!!! No more carrying buckets or wrestling hoses ! We highly recommend buying this product. We trained our horses in 2 days exactly like the video says . It works!!!! It did take a few weeks to train the donkeys, but donkeys are stubborn that’s not a secret lol they love the waterer and actually use it for entertainment. Also customer service is amazing . All questions answered right away !! Very helpful and responsive. Thank you drinking posts for everything ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Angel - Michigan - 8/28/2018MaKenna M.We love our drinking post! It was very easy to install and the horses figured it out quickly - 2/20/2020 - Carla M DarrowOur drinking post has worked well in the -30 degree range here in upstate NY. We were’nt sure how it would hold up to the low temps and abundance of snow but so far no problems. - 2/04/2019Timothy A.Purchased one last year and love it. Never froze up last winter and my horses always have fresh, clean and cool water all summer long. - 11/16/2023Judith D.I am so satisfied that I now have 5. It is so great to have clean, fresh water year round. We have 25 quarters horses of all sizes and operate the waterers easily. Any time I need parts they are always available. Best thing about the units is they are simple and easy to work on if repair is needed. Our first unit was installed on 2014. Doug D. Sioux Falls SD - 11/11/2020
- Judy V.I was worried about freezing up in the open paddock with temps negative 20 degrees F in the winter. Nope! Care FREE all winter long!! Hallelujah!! - 9/19/2021Maureen T.We bought our drinking posts about 3 years ago. I have had zero issues with them. We are on a well so once every fall I do take them apart and fully clean them since I do get sediment from the well. However city water should have no issues. My cows have fresh water even on the coldest days and we had record negative temps last winter! The drinking posts did great. I will be ordering more as we add more pens around the barn area. These are a must have for anyone that deals with frozen hoses, tank heaters, evaporation, and algae build up in normal waterers. They are great for horses and cattle and pigs as well. A post for our pigs is in the list for next summer. - 11/16/2023DonSure beats filling, cleaning and heating water troughs. My cattle adapted quickly, as do any new additions to the herd. We’ve had our first drinking post about 8 years with minimal maintenance and have installed several more since. Highly recommended! - 4/16/2022
- Lisa TrentWe've had ours for a couple years now and they've worked perfectly, 100% of the time. Worth every penny and then some for the peace of mind! - 5/08/2020Ellen HeckertWe installed one last year (2018) and it worked beautifully through a very cold, windy Pennsylvania winter. I just purchased two more for other pastures and can’t wait till the ground thaws to get them installed!! They have stood up to our horses kicking at them, chewing on them and trying to bite the paddle! The post did not get brittle in the cold like PVC does. Great work saving product!! No more cleaning dirty, slimy troughs and wasting water and electricity!! - 3/03/2019Bob GieseWe installed a Drinking Post in November 2017 and have gone through two of the most brutal February’s we can remember in Montana. The only problem we had was when it was -32 temperature and -59 wind chill. The paddle froze open and that was my fault as I had it screwed down too tight. The DP is easy to install, uses no power and ours works awesome. I have had a couple issues with a horse that didn’t want to learn how to drink and Brad answered almost immediately with a solution. All of our other horses caught on to the DP in a day or two. We have used other automatic waterers and the DP is hands down better! We love our DP! - 3/10/2019
- Ted L.I installed two drinking post in my barn for our horses. They really save on chores. Winter is around the corner. No more dealing with heated water buckets and electric cords! The horses caught on quickly and like using them. It’s a win all the way around. - 10/29/2022Nicole C.This is my second review I’m leaving based on the unbeatable customer service. I needed a part on a day they were closed. Not only did they call back, not only did they meet me on a day they closed but I received the part for FREE!!! I’m blown away by this company AND their product. I’ve had it for 2.5 years and it works sooooo good. Never freezes in the winter and I have mine out in the elements. Quality Customer service is hard to come by these days... not with this place. THANK YOU - 8/22/2020Chelsea Lilly GardnerCould not be happier with my drinking post! So much time and money saved this winter with the drinking post waterer! - 1/31/2019
- Gina S.I have had this for 2 winters now- with temperatures in the single digits. Never a problem. Best investment I’ve made and very easy to install. At the time I installed I only had one horse. It did take her a couple weeks to figure it out , but when I got the second horse, she figured it out in a day. Great, great waterer. - 4/16/2021kenneth r.The Drinking Post Waterer works great for us in Colorado. The customer service responded immediately when we had a small issue. I would recommend them for the high quality waterer and great customer service. - 4/16/2022Elizabeth M.I LOVE my drinking post!! Think about all of the stress related to water for your horse, now imagine that gone. No more worrying about whether your horse has water, cleaning buckets or troughs, dumping toughs that could be a breeding ground for algae and mosquitoes, filling buckets, de-icing them, worrying about heated water buckets getting unplugged, etc. It was easy to install - my well guy hooked it up easily and with no prior experience. It was easy to trouble-shoot. When extreme cold weather hit, I had a problem with it leaking. I called Brad who talked me through how to fix it and I (with no plumbing where-with-all) fixed it in 30 seconds. I was very worried that my horse wouldn't figure out how to use it. The key is to 1. introduce them to it and you depress the paddle so that they get used to the sound and know it is where water comes out and 2. use the training paddle. I didn't use the training paddle and my horse wasn't using the waterer. The second I put on the training paddle and dribbled molasses in the bowl he got it IMMEDIATELY. The waterer is outside (under a barn overhang). When I stable my horse overnight in a stall I use a bucket. I've seen him come out of the stall and go to the drinking post rather than drink out of his bucket, he likes it that much. Honestly, I don't know why all horse people don't have one. - 2/01/2020
