We installed DP two years ago in both our barn and pasture. Couldn't be more happy. We had a terrible long winter in the PNW and midst the ice and snow the DP's never failed. Such a gift not to have to plug in water heaters and deal with breaking ice. We bring in new horses for training and it has been amazing to me how quickly they learn to drink from the DP. We installed our first drinking post a few months ago in our Welsh pony's field. He figured out how to use it immediately and seems to enjoy playing with it too. My other horse has a traditional water trough with a float and in the summer weather it turns green and needs dumped and cleaned every few days. The drinking post on the other hand provides clean, cool water on demand and takes no work on my part. I really like it! I will eventually install one for my horse too. Installed in October and so far so good. The goats learned how to use it and so far it’s working as advertised. Haven’t had any below zero weather yet. I’m wondering if the drain might freeze up when it’s really cold. Install was pretty straightforward. I’m lucky enough to have a neighbor with a backhoe but if you don’t have access to a backhoe or excavator install with a shovel would be very time consuming. - 1/16/2024

I've had 4 drinkers for my horses for several years now. This year's heat and drought have been TRYING! But I don't waste any water. The units always deliver clean, fresh, and cool water. I don't need to be cleaning green slime out of units every 2 days. In the heat of the day the horses are not standing at a tank splashing out valuable water that is no longer cool. Even when I move horses to a different location, they have no problem finding the drinkers. These are quality units! They are simple to repair when needed! They are priced fairly! This thing is amazing. This is the second winter with it. I am going to do the winterizing this year. It got a bit frozen at the top last year in a heavy deep freezing (-15)snow. Warm water and a little cleaning did the trick. No problems with training pony and two horses share it between 2 pastures. Best thing ever. - 11/26/2024 -

We installed our drinking post this summer for our two warmbloods and 1 mule. I actually have looked forward to the electric bill each month to see the cost savings that the drinking post has given us. So far this winter our electric bill is averaging 300 kWh less then the same month last year when we were using a water tank heater. That is $30 of savings a month just from 1 tank heater! At this rate the drinking post will pay for itself in 2.5 winters. It has been worth every penny! I'm not sure how I could love my Drinking Post waterers more!! We installed them about 2 years ago so they've gone through 2 winters and summers and I think they paid for themselves the first week after installing them! The horses all learned quickly. OK, we have one mare (she's a bit wonky in the head in many ways...) who was a bit of a s l o w learner, but we helped her along and she was using them within three days. Everyone else (15+ horses) had NO trouble whatsoever. The test for me was my big draft cross because he destroys everything and he's been unable to figure out a way to completely destroy them either! They've been put to the test in sub-arctic long stretches and we've never ever had any issues with freezing. And, NO HEATERS!! That alone saves us so much money and time!! We will be putting a new structure up and we will be planning from the start where we want our new DP waterers!! I will NEVER have horses without these!! Oh, and I forgot to mention, there's no algae to deal with in tanks in the summer either! NO, I am NOT paid by them, I just love them that much!! When you're as old as I am and you've had to haul your share of water and break ice as much as I have, to find a solution that seems magical is the best feeling. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. OOOH - and their customer service if you do have a problem??? UNBELIEVABLE! My draft X that destroys literally everything found a way not to break the waterer, but the outside sheath. I called to order a replacement part and he asked for the measurements and sent one to me free of charge. LOVE the product and LOVE the company!! - 4/16/2023 -

We have four systems. The oldest one was installed about four years ago, and we had our first problem when the bowl stopped draining. Customer service was amazing. Tracked the trouble down to the weight inside the valve. The Company sent us a replacement for free. Installed and fixed the problem. After years of having electric heaters run to our automatic waterers, these systems are a life saver. If I had a gripe, it would be they don’t do a great job on the website at explaining, in written directions, how these systems work and how to disassemble/reassemble them. We are in the sticks so the YouTube videos aren’t as helpful. See the photo of the weight. This came out of a 6’ waterer and obviously worked for a good while; however, when draining stopped, the hexagonal replacement the company sent took care of the issue immediately. - 10/13/2024 -

We bought our drinking posts about 3 years ago. I have had zero issues with them. We are on a well so once every fall I do take them apart and fully clean them since I do get sediment from the well. However city water should have no issues. My cows have fresh water even on the coldest days and we had record negative temps last winter! The drinking posts did great. I will be ordering more as we add more pens around the barn area. These are a must have for anyone that deals with frozen hoses, tank heaters, evaporation, and algae build up in normal waterers. They are great for horses and cattle and pigs as well. A post for our pigs is in the list for next summer. - 11/16/2023

I bought one based on the recommendation of my son, who lives in Minneapolis. It was easy to install, and after the horses learned how it works, has been fantastic. I haven't cleaned a horse tank or used a de-icer since I put it in. And, there is no electricity involved. I love it!! - 4/16/2021

Although we are in the deep south and don't have to battle the sub-zero winters...DP Waterers are still life savers. These waterers have saved our lives in the summer when we have to pour out hundreds of gallons of water every day to keep our water fresh, cool and algae free. Also for those weeks during the winter when we struggle with icy watering troughs the DP Waterers are like little miracles in our pasture (since the only place we are used to ice is in our sweet tea!). We installed the drinking posts two years ago. This last weekend was beyond cold in Ontario Canada. (-41 Celsius) unfortunately the anchor for the paddle broke right off the bottom of the bowl. HOWEVER, System Fencing, (Dealer) had the bowl in stock and less than 24 hrs later we were up and running again. So easy to fix and replace even in this temperature. Thank you for an exceptional product! (And calling me back even though I didn’t need your help after all in finding my closest dealer). - 1/22/2019
